Sim patch solution (apply an iSIM together with your operator sim card) is still the safest iPhone unlocking solution because unlike other unlocking solution,
iSIM unlocking solution do not require you to downgrade your iPhone bootloader. Downgrading iPhone's bootloader is rather risky because it may brick your iPhone, which is not software repairable.

Why still use a sim patch solution for iPhone while other unlocking methods available?

You already using a jailbreak & activated iPhone with version 1.1.2 or below.
You are going abroad for holiday or for business with your iPhone & do not want to carry a pair of scissors with you. You simply put the local country's sim card into our FirstSim tray & insert it into your iPhone & start using the new network to save roaming cost.
You feel unhappy because your sim card has been cut or you have join a new network, and now you do want want to cut your new sim card anymore!
You want to unlock your iPhone safely & do not want to downgrade the bootloader of iPhone , which it is known to be dangerous & can brick your iPhone which is not software repairable. Downgrading the bootlaoder is not reversible & will void your iPhone warranty!
Other unlocking methods are good as well but they have to downgrade your iPhone bootloader which may not be compatible with future iPhone new upgrade. We do not know will iPhone new firmware refuse an older bootlader or now, so it is not so safe!
